Briar Cheatham notches sixth-place finish in 604 debut at Deep South
Both Cheatham Racing pilots kicked off their Independence Day weekend on Saturday afternoon at Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Ala.) with Briar debuting in the 604 Crate Late Model ranks aboard a Capital Race Car.
With time trials setting the grid for the main event, Briar was still getting his new car dialed in as he came in 10th fastest while Jake laid down a 17.405-lap to secure the seventh-fastest qualifying lap. Nearly racing his way into the top-10 in the feature, Briar advanced forward four positions to register a sixth-place finish while Jake faded to 13th when the checkered flag flew.
