OCRS Sprints return to Lawton Speedway Saturday

John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (July 4, 2023) - The AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories OCRS Sprint Cars return to Lawton Speedway on Saturday.

Lawton Speedway last hosted the OCRS sprints on June 10 and Alex Sewell of Broken Arrow raced to victory over three-time champion Zach Chappell and veteran racer Danny Wood.

Wood leads the points chase on the strength of 10 top 10 finishes in 11 events, but is still looking for his first victory. Johnny Kent trails Wood by 30 points. Cache, Oklahoma driver, and 2021 champion, Joe Bob Lee sits in third followed by Norman driver Sheldon Barksdale in fourth and Chappell fifth. All five are still chasing their first victory of 2023.

Seven drivers have earned wins in 2023 led by Rees Moran who has won three times in the last four events. Sewell and Zach Blurton have two each. Tanner Conn, Fred Mattox, Sean McClelland and Whit Gastineau each have one victory.
