Sheppard enjoys strong week with World of Outlaws, four top-10's
Kicking off a four-race swing with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series, Brandon Sheppard trekked to Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Tuesday afternoon to pilot his Valvoline No. B5 Late Model for the Mason City Showdown.
With a third-place finish in his heat race positioning him on the fourth row for the opener, Sheppard stormed forward four positions to place third. He followed Bobby Pierce and Shane Clanton across the line in the 40-lapper.
Back in action on Thursday after Mother Nature shifted Wednesday’s stop at Red River Valley Speedway (West Fargo, N.D.) back a day, Brandon came in fourth in his heat before moving forward one spot in the feature to finish 10th.
On Friday at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.), Sheppard followed up a third-place run in his heat with an eighth-place finish in the 40-lap feature.
The weekend drew to a close on Sunday at I-94 EMR Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minn.) with Brandon qualifying for the finale with a third-place showing in his heat. With $15,000 on the line, Sheppard advanced forward seven spots in the 50-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He trailed Bobby Pierce to the checkers with Tanner English, Ryan Gustin, and Dennis Erb Jr. completing the top-five finishers.
Brandon climbed to sixth in the latest WoO point standings.
