Late charge lifts Feger to DIRTcar Summer Nationals triumph at PIR
After sitting out Tuesday’s DIRTcar Summer Nationals event, Jason Feger returned with Hell Tour on Wednesday afternoon at Adams County Speedway (Quincy, Ill.) aboard his Digital Copy Systems No. 25 Late Model.
With a third-place run in his heat race lining him up on the fourth row for the main event, Feger marched forward six spots to register a second-place finish. He chased Ashton Winger to the checkers with Morgan Bagley rounding out the podium.
For another $5,000-to-win DIRTcar Summer Nationals event on Thursday at Benton Speedway (Benton, Mo.), Jason stopped the clock second-fastest in his time trial group before placing first in his heat. Fading four spots in the 40-lap feature, Feger notched a fifth-place finish.
Putting on an impressive show in Saturday’s stop at Paducah International Raceway (Paducah, Ky.), Feger followed up the fast time honors with a win in his heat race and the feature. Despite suffering a flat tire on the third lap, Jason stormed into the lead late and went onto capture his ninth win of the season and a $10,000 payday. He took his 26th career Hell Tour victory ahead of Ashton Winger, Kyle Beard, Bob Gardner, and Billy Moyer Jr.
Saturday's DIRTcar Summer Nationals event at Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tenn.) fell victim to weather while Monday's stop at Lake Cumberland Speedway (Burnside, Ky.) was postponed to Tuesday.
Jason leads the overall DIRTcar Summer Nationals point standings.
