Kyle Steffens enjoys strong showing with Hell Tour in week two
With Thursday’s stop at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.) cancelled to faulty track equipment, Kyle Steffens returned with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Friday evening at Brownstown Bullring (Brownstown, Ill.) for the eighth round of the Hell Tour.
Coming off a hot start in his first week on tour, Steffens returned where he left off as he timed in second-fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Moving forward four spots 25-lap feature, Kyle rolled to a fourth-place finish.
In a field of 28 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds on Saturday at Federated Raceway at I-55 (Pevely, Mo.), Kyle followed up a runner-up run in his heat race with a steady fourth-place finish in the feature. He chased Mike Harrison, Kenny Wallace, and Michael Long to the checkers with Dean Hoffman coming in fifth.
For the weekend finale on Sunday at Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Ill.), Steffens raced his way into the show with a fifth-to-third run in his heat. With $1,500 on the line, Kyle improved three positions in the 25-lapper to place fifth.
Back in action on Wednesday at Adams County Speedway (Quincy, Ill.), Kyle took the green in fifth in the main event via a third-place finish in his heat and went onto place sixth.
