Fourth-place finish in Dirt Late Model Dream prelim at Eldora Speedway
Chris Ferguson made the haul to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday to enter his Diff-Tran Machining No. 22 Late Model into battle for the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream.
With the 95-car field split into two groups, Ferguson followed up the fourth-fastest lap in his time trial group with a fourth-to-second showing in his heat. Chasing a $12,000 payday in the feature, Chris held onto a 14th-place finish after making the incorrect adjustments before the start of the 25-lapper.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Chris’ runner-up finish in his heat race positioned him on the third row for his $12,000-to-win preliminary feature. Gaining two spots in the 25-lap affair, Ferguson recorded a fourth-place finish, which came behind Mike Marlar, Jonathan Davenport, and Ricky Thornton Jr. with Kyle Strickler coming in fifth.
On Saturday, Ferguson missed a transfer spot by one car in his heat with a fourth-place finish, relegating him into one of two consolation races for one last shot at the $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream. Needing to place third or better, Chris was overtaken on the last lap for the final transfer spot, ending his weekend early.
