Enterkin snags a pair of runner-up finishes in Modified in Michigan

Kicking off his Memorial Day weekend in the Great Lakes State, Jesse Enterkin made the trip to Tri-City Motor Speedway (Auburn, Mich.) on Friday afternoon to pilot the Collin Thirlby-owned No. E47 Modified.

Drawing 29 IMCA Modifieds, Enterkin secured his spot into the opener with a heat race win. Receiving the ninth-starting position via the redraw, Jesse held onto an 11th-place finish after issues with a shock mount hindered the handling of his car.

On Saturday afternoon at Merritt Speedway (Merritt, Mich.), Enterkin outran Garrett Bennett in his heat to pick up the eight-lap victory. After leading the race’s opening 20 circuits, Jesse went onto place second in the 25-lapper. He chased Chase Rosebrugh to the checkers with his teammate Collin Thirlby coming in third.

At the same track on Sunday, Jesse’s seventh-to-fourth run in his heat race placed him on the second row for the finale. Taking command of the lead early, Enterkin led laps 1-23 but was unable to hold off his teammate in the waning laps. He scored his second runner-up finish of the weekend.
