KELLER OUTLASTS STAR STUDDED FIELD

The final feature of the weekend was the predominate Iron Man 100. Mark Dahl and Marlyn Seidler earned the front row starting positions and led the field to do battle for 100 laps. Seidler grabbed the lead when the green flag waved and within a handful of laps, started catching the tail end of the field. Lapped traffic was an issue as it allowed Brady Bjella and Kollin Hibdon to quickly catch and pass Seidler for the top spot. While battling for the lead, the two-time defending race winner, Hibdon, had a flat tire which brought out the first caution. On the restart, Jason Wolla passed Seidler for second and quickly passed Bjella for the lead. Wolla led a handful of laps before his car got tight, allowing Jeremy Keller to grab the lead before a slow running Hibdon on the front stretch brought out another caution. Two more cautions would regroup the field, allowing Aaron Turnbull, who started 23rd, to climb through the field and take the lead before the mid-race pit stop at lap 50. Drivers and pit crews brought their race cars down in front of the fans to add fuel and make changes. After their five minute time limit was up, they hopped back behind the wheel for the final 50 laps. Turnbull led the field back to the green flag but Keller quickly motored by Turnbull at the start. Keller pulled away and started lapping the field. Jeremy Keller lapped all the way up to the fifth position when the checkered flag waved to win his first Iron Man 100 championship and take home the $5000 prize. Aaron Turnbull finished a distant second while Marlyn Seidler held off Mark Dahl for fourth. Jason Wolla was the first car one lap down in the fifth position.
