Bagley shows strength during Show-Me 100 weekend

Team 14 made the trek to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri) for the Show-Me 100 this weekend, where driver Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, took to the 3/8-mile oval for three consecutive nights of racing.

The trio of races co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) kicked off with 59 cars attempting to make the $6,000-to-win Cowboy Classic on Thursday.

Bagley piloted his P&W Sales No. 14M machine to a fourth-place finish in his heat race and a third-place effort in his B-Main, just missing out on a transfer spot into the 45-lap main event.

Fifty-seven cars were in the pits on Friday for another $6,000-to-win race, this one the Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson. After a sixth-place result in his heat, Bagley drove from sixth to second in his B-Main to transfer to the 40-lap main event. He started 23rd and gained one spot to come home 22nd.

Saturday’s finale attracted a total of 60 cars looking to take part in the crown-jewel 100-lapper. With B-Mains filling out the field, Bagley drove to fifth in his race, putting him in the 20-lap Show-Me Challenge for non-qualifiers.

He took over the lead on the 19th lap of the Show-Me Challenge, but relinquished the top spot to Kolby Vandenbergh on the final circuit and narrowly missed out on a $2,500 payday or the chance to race for $50,000 in the main event.
