Diercks battles motor issues in Late Model
Testing the waters in his Late Model with the Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries, Spencer Diercks made a mid-week trip to Marshalltown Speedway (Marshalltown, Iowa) on Tuesday evening for the fifth round of the tour.
The Davenport, Iowa, pilot was able to compete in hot laps and time trials but was sidelined in his heat after dealing with persistent motor issues.
For another $23,023-to-win Castrol FloRacing Night in America event on Wednesday at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa), Spencer’s seventh-place finish in his heat relegated him into a B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the show, Diercks logged a sixth-place outing.
Joining the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday, the team ventured to 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa) for the You Call We Haul 50. With a ninth-place finish in his heat race pinning him on the 13th row for the main event, Diercks pulled pitside on the 14th circuit.
On Saturday evening at 34 Raceway (West Burlington, Iowa) for the CRST Transportation Solution 50, Spencer followed up a sixth-place showing in his heat with a fifth-place run in his B-Main. With $15,000 on the line in the feature, Diercks completed two laps before pulling in to save equipment.
