Mitchell scores pair of top-10 finishes during Bad Boy 98 weekend
On Friday and Saturday, Jon Mitchell took on COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) foes at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) in the two-day Bad Boy 98.
In Friday’s preliminary action, Mitchell won his heat race in his W&W Timber No. 5 Dirt Late Model, starting the Texarkana, Texas, driver third on the grid for the 30-lap A-Main. Mitchell ultimately came home sixth in the $5,000-to-win race on the 3/8-mile, high-banked dirt oval.
On Saturday, Mitchell lined up seventh for the 68-lap, $12,000-to-the-victor finale after finishing second in his heat. He finished in the 10th position after running as high as fifth in the race's early stages.
