Hoffman third in Dairyland Showdown prelim, weather axes finale
Nick Hoffman returned the driver’s seat of the Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 Late Model on Thursday evening as the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series kicked off the Dairyland Showdown weekend with a pair of preliminary features.
With the 43-car field divided into two groups, Hoffman’s sixth-fastest qualifying lap placed him on the third row for his $5,000-to-win prelim. Moving forward three spots in the 25-lap affair, Nick raced to a third-place finish, which came behind Cade Dillard and Bobby Pierce.
Persistent rain on Friday forced World of Outlaws officials to cancel the remainder of the weekend.
