The 2023 Speedweeks continued for Dutchstar Motorsports and Ross Robinson on Monday afternoon as East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Fla.) hosted the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) for six consecutive nights of racing.

In a stout field of 58 Late Models, Robinson timed in fourth-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Ross rebounded to finish 17th after pulling pitside on the third circuit with a flat left-rear tire.

On Tuesday for the second round of the Wieland Winternationals, Ross edged his way into the show with a runner-up finish in his B-Main after placing fifth in his heat. Retiring on lap 16 of the 30-lapper, Robinson was credited with a 23rd-place outing.

Electing to use a provisional into Wednesday’s $7,000-to-win A-Main after failing to qualify via his heat and B-Main, Robinson advanced forward 11 positions to finish 15th.

With 63 Late Models entered on Thursday, Ross followed up a fifth-place finish in his heat with a runner-up performance in his 10-lap consolation race. Passing five cars in the 40-lap feature, Robinson reeled in a 19th-place finish.

The following night, Robinson was forced to take a provisional into the show after finishing eighth in his heat and sixth in his B-Main. With $12,000 on the line, Ross improved 111 positions in the 50-lap affair to place 15th.

A mixture of wet weather and an unfavorable forecast washed out Saturday’s Wieland Winternationals finale.
