Blair Nothdurft
Nothdurft follows speedweeks to Golden Isles and Bubba Raceway Park
Back in action on Thursday, Blair Nothdurft visited Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) to compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) for the annual Super Bowl of Racing.
Drawing a stack field of 50 cars for the season opener for the tour, Nothdurft timed in 23rd-fastest in his group before placing eighth in his heat. Starting on the seventh row of his B-Main, Blair gained three spots but fell short of a transfer position with an 11th-place outing.
Returning on Saturday afternoon after failing to qualify for Friday’s $10,000-to-win A-Main, Blair secured his spot into the $25,000-to-win Super Bowl of Racing finale with a fifth-to-third run in his heat. Starting in 17th, Nothdurft dropped two positions in the talent-laden field to finish 19th.
On Sunday at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Fla.) for the BRP Winter Nationals, Nothdurft raced his way into the feature with a runner-up performance in his consolation race after finishing one spot out in his heat in fourth. With $10,000 on the line, Blair was an early retiree from the 40-lap affair on the 15th circuit with mechanical issues.
For another $10,000-to-win A-Main on Monday, Blair followed up a sixth-place run in his heat with a second-place finish in his B-Main, locking him on the 10th row for the feature. Pulling off with five circuits remaining in the 40-lapper, Nothdurft was credited with a 24th-place finish.
