Chase Junghans

Junghans seventh with Lucas Oil at Bubba Raceway Park

Traveling north the Peach State, Chase Junghans continued his 2023 speedweeks on Thursday evening at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) as the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) kicked off the 2023 campaign with the Super Bowl of Racing.

With 50 Late Models amassed, Junghans’ eight-to-sixth run in his heat relegated him into a B-Main for another shot at the opening night feature. Taking the top-two, Chase fell short with a seventh-place outing.

After failing to qualify for Friday’s $10,000-to-win A-Main, Chase returned to the 4/10-mile on Saturday for the $25,000-to-win Super Bowl of Racing finale. Following the 14th-fastest qualifying lap in his group, Junghans dropped two spots in his heat race to finish seventh. Starting on the sixth row of his B-Main for one last shot at the main event, Chase recorded a 10th-place finish, ending his night early.

Following the LOLMDS on Sunday, Junghans invaded Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Fla.) for the two-day BRP Winter Nationals. A pair of 10th-place finishes in his heat race and B-Main brought an early end to his night.

Getting off to a hot start on Monday, Chase stopped the clock seventh-fastest in his group before placing second in his heat. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Junghans raced to a seventh-place finish in the 40-lapper.
