Tyler Erb scores fourth-place finish with Lucas Oil at BRP

Tyler Erb visited Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) on Thursday afternoon to pilot the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season opener.

In a stout field of 50 Late Models for the three-day Super Bowl of Racing, Erb raced his way into the opener with a runner-up finish in his B-Main after missing a transfer position by one car in his heat with a fourth-place outing. Gaining six spots in the 40-lap affair, Tyler crossed the line in 15th.

For another $10,000-to-win A-Main on Friday, Tyler timed in 10th-fastest in his qualifying group before placing second in his heat. Fading outside the top-10 in the feature, Erb logged a 16th-place outing.

On Saturday, Erb’s eighth-to-fourth run in his heat relegated him into a B-Main for another shot at the $25,000-to-win Super Bowl of Racing finale. Despite locking his spot into a show with a runner-up performance, Tyler was a scratch from the 60-lap affair.

In a field of 39 LOLMDS entries on Sunday afternoon at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Fla.), Tyler followed up a third-place finish in his B-Main with a 21st-to-11th showing in the 40-lap feature.

The five-day stint drew to a close on Monday with Erb getting off to a hot start with an eight-lap victory over Chase Junghans. Racing to a top-five finish in the feature, Tyler posted a fourth-place run, which came behind Jonathan Davenport, Ashton Winger, and Dennis Erb Jr. with Devin Moran coming in fifth.
