Mills wires Thursday's 604 field at Golden Isles Speedway
Once again pulling double duty in 604 and 602 Late Model competition, Trey Mills traveled to Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) for the crate portions of the Super Bowl of Racing event.
In the 602 Late Model ranks, Trey transferred to the feature after a win in his B-Feature. Mills raced to a ninth-place finish in Thursday's main event.
In Friday's 602 show, a 17th-place qualifying lap forced Trey to a B-Main where he would grab the win. Locking himself into the main event, Mills started 13th in the 20-lap and wound up ninth at the checkered flag.
On the final day of 602 action, Mills notched the fifth-fastest lap in his qualifying group and went on to collect a Top-3 finish in Saturday's main event.
In a tough field of 54 604 Crate Late Models, Mills topped the charts in qualifying which positioned him to start on the pole for Thursday's feature. Trey dominated the race and led all 25-laps en route to his first victory of 2023. Mills outran Cody Overton and Trent Loyd to the $1,500 payday.
The following evening in 604's, Trey followed up a 10th-fastest qualifying lap with a B-Main victory which pinned Mills to 14th-place starting spot. In the 25-lap A-Main, Mills went on a 14th-8th run to record a Top-10 finish.
For the main event on Saturday, Trey lined up on the sixth row for the A-Main after a 12th-place qualifying lap. For the $1,500-to-win feature, Mills faded to record a 18th-place finish.
