Koehler Motorsports Tackles Super Bowl of Racing
Koehler Motorsports continued Speedweeks 2023 with a trip to Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) for the Super Clean Super Bowl of Racing at the 4/10-mile oval.
Thursday's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competition found both Jimmy Owens and Jordan Koehler in action. Jimmy piloted his No. 20 Longhorn by Wells into the feature event via a third-place finish in his heat race. Passing four drivers in the $10,000-to-win main event, he crossed the finish line in 14th.
Jordan fell short of qualifying for the feature via preliminary action but was able to utilize a series' provisional to start the main event in the 26th position. He advanced a few spots early in the feature before retiring to a 23rd-place finish following a lap-29 tangle.
Meanwhile, Evan was one of 42 602 Late Model entries on hand for the opening round. Struggles in qualifying left him 31st fastest, which relegated him to a B-Main, where he failed to reach a transfer spot as his night came to an early end.
On Friday evening Owens fell short of making the LOLMDS main event, while Jordan was able to start the feature with a series provisional. He started 27th and finished 23rd.
Evan again raced in the 602 Late Model division, where he qualified 13th before finishing fourth in his B-Main. With only the Top-3 finishers moving onto the feature his night drew to an early end.
The weekend at Golden Isles Speedway for Koehler Motorsports drew to a close on Saturday night. Jimmy advanced from 29th to 14th in the $25,000-to-win LOLMDS finale, while Jordan wasn't able to qualify for the feature. His night came to an end with a 13th-place finish in his B-Main.
