Tyler County Speedway Releases 2023 Racing Schedule; Highlighted by 'Super September'!

(Middlebourne, WV) Following another successful campaign last summer, the Tyler County Speedway is pleased to release another banner slate of 2023 events for America’s Baddest Bullring. Entering year number eleven at the helm of the Middlebourne, WV oval, the Hometown Racing Association prides itself on fast affordable fun for the entire family and the 2023 schedule is no different.

Since opening in June of 1974, the Tyler County Speedway has been a favorite among racers and fans throughout the Mountain State and Mid-Ohio Valley region. America’s Baddest Bullring, is well known among its peers for its high banked exciting track configuration, three and four wide racing action, highly competitive divisions, a diverse special event lineup of races second to none and most importantly a loyal die-hard fan base.

The 2023 season at the ‘Bullring’ will be one for the ages as the speedway will set course for ‘Super September’, a huge month of monumental money. Starting off by playing host to its traditional Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-3 with the oldest dirt late model major event, the 55th Annual Hillbilly 100 featuring the Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series and paying the winner $30,000 with a total purse exceeding $100,000. A West Virginia tradition for five decades and the Mountain States biggest race weekend of the season still has race fans buzzing from last years Kyle Larson victory. That’s not all, as just a couple of weeks later on Wednesday, Sept. 27th the nation will be tuned in as we welcome the stars of the Castrol FloRacing Night in America to town with $23,000 going to the winner. Tyler County Speedway is honored to be one of just thirteen tracks selected as part of the popular midweek series, known for their impeccable production, studio show, efficiently ran programs and stellar competition as host Dustin Jarrett and Ben Shelton will call all the action.

The season will kick off in earnest on Saturday, March 25th with our annual Test and Tune as fans are invited out to check out the new 2023 rides as the racers tune their machines for the opener, plus the first of four ‘Grocery Getter’ Enduro Series events will take the seasons first green flag. The lid officially opens on the new season on Saturday Night, April 1st as we aren’t ‘foolin’ around as we kickoff 49 years of motorsports excitement and the ‘Road to Super September’ gets underway.

Tyler County Speedway is known for hosting special events and 2023 will be no different as we welcome several sanctioning bodies and tours to America’s Baddest Bullring. Including the aforementioned Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series on Labor Day weekend, Castrol FloRacing Night in America, Sept. 27th, plus a pair of visits from the RUSH Late Model Touring Series on Saturday, July 22nd for the 21st Annual Eaton/Childers King of the Ring and Sept. 3rd. Pennsylvania’s ULMS Late Models will roll into town for the Topless 50 on May 6th with a pair of visits from the Steel Block Late Model Series on April 15th for the 13th Annual Pat Herrick Memorial and Sept. 2nd. The brand new Tri-State Street Stock Series will make three stops during the 23’ season with the RUSH Sprint Car Series and SCDRA Northeast Tour each making a solo trip to Middlebourne, WV. Several traditional Memorial staples of the ‘Bullring’ including the 36th Annual Earl Hill Memorial on Sunday, July 2nd, Dickson Classic for UMP Mods, Tammy Clegg Tribute for Hotmods, Bud Weigle Memorial, 3rd Annual Buckwheat Memorial for Mini Wedges and new to the schedule for 2023, the $1,500 to win Jerry Potts Memorial for Sportmods round out the special events.

Just like always at the Tyler County Speedway, several fan friendly events adorn the most entertaining schedule in the region highlighted with such events as Real Housewives of the Bullring Night, Dad, Dogs & Dirt Night, ‘Fans First’ Social Media Night to ‘Pack the Track FREE Night’ on Saturday, June 10th and Monster Truck Mania on Saturday, June 24th. The Tyler County Speedway will continue to be one of the few tracks in the nation still offering two classes of Late Models on a weekly basis including the highly popular Super Late Models and RUSH Late Models. The very competitive UMP Modifieds, Sportmods, Hotmods, SCDRA 4 Cylinders and our future racers of the MWRA Mini Wedges will round out the areas most competitive pit area.
