Chad Finchum Challenges the "Lady in Black" at Darlington

Darlington, South Carolina (08/31/19) - Chad Finchum went head-to-head with the "Lady in Black" on Saturday as he took his MBM Motorsports No. 61 Great Southern Homes/ The Apple Barn/ Toyota Supra into battle at Darlington Raceway

"We started 31st on the grid and drove this hot rod to 19th, and honestly we were likely better than the four or five cars in front of us. But then late in the race the 'Lady in Black' got us with a 'Darlington stripe' when we got into the wall. I fought the handle on the car for the next several laps, but with about 10 to go something let go, so I had to take it behind the wall," Finchum revealed. "Obviously, it wasn't the finish that we wanted, but after several weeks of mechanical issues, our team showed some serious speed today, and that's got me excited for the upcoming events.

"It was awesome to have some great sponsors on board, including Toyota of Kingsport, The Apple Barn, Great Southern Homes, American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning, Texas Roadhouse of Kingsport and Electrical Service Company. We gave it everything we had for about 200 miles, and now we'll head onto the next race."
