Pair of seventh-place finishes in FALS Frenzy at Fairbury

Drawing 36 MARS Racing Series for the doubleheader weekend to wrap up the season for the tour, Shirley’s second-place finish in his heat race positioned him eighth on the starting grid for the preliminary feature. With $5,000 on the line, Brian gained one spot in the 40-lapper to place seventh.

On Saturday, Brian followed up the fourth-fastest lap in his group with a runner-up finish in his heat. Earning the eighth-starting position for the $15,000-to-win FALS Frenzy, Shirley clawed forward one spot to register a seventh-place finish.
