EPJ notches eighth-place finish in Hillbilly Hundred at Tyler County
For the rescheduled Hillbilly Hundred, Earl Pearson Jr. visited Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W. Va.) on Thursday afternoon to pilot the Papich Racing No. 46 Longhorn Chassis for the event rained out in early September. (Zach Yost photos)
In a field of 40 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Pearson stopped the clock sixth-fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Starting the $30,000-to-win Hillbilly Hundred in 12th, Earl gained four spots in the 100-lapper to register an eighth-place finish.
After saturated grounds cancelled Friday's scheduled event at Raceway 7 (Connaut, Ohio), an unfavorable forecast wiped out Saturday's Pittsburgher 100 at Pittsburgh PA. Motor Speedway (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
Earl is currently fifth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
