Pair of Top-5 finishes in Louisiana State Championships

Friday night found Kyle Beard in action at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) for the doubleheader weekend with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS). (Millie Tanner photo | Turn 3 Images)

Drawing 20 cars for the Louisiana State Championship opener, Beard stopped the clock fifth-fastest in time trials before placing second in his heat race. With $6,000 on the line feature, Kyle posted a fifth-place finish, which came behind Tyler Stevens, Logan Martin, Cade Dillard, and Billy Moyer Jr.

On Saturday, Kyle secured his spot into the $6,000-to-win finale with a runner-up performance in his heat. Inching forward two positions in the 40-lap affair, Beard rolled to a third-place finish. He trailed Tyler Stevens and Cade Dillard to the checkers.

Kyle is currently fourth in the latest CCSDS point standings.
