Ricky Weiss records Top-10 finish in World 100 prelim at Eldora

With 107 Late Models amassed, Weiss followed up the third-fastest time in his group with a fourth-to-second run in his heat. Losing one spot in his 25-lap preliminary feature, Ricky recorded a seventh-place finish.
On Friday, Ricky outran Mike Marlar in his 10-lap heat race to pick up the win. After winning by more than a two-second margin in his prelim, Weiss was penalized in postrace tech for failing to meet the proper deck height requirement, relegating him to 24th on the rundown.
Slated to start Saturday’s heat race in 14th, Weiss elected to scratch from the 15-lapper and prepare for Tuesday’s upcoming Castrol FloRacing Night in America event at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.).
