Hedgecock records sixth-place finish in Chasing the Dream prelim at Eldora

With the 66-car field divided into three groups, Hedgecock earned the 11th-starting position for his $5,000-to-win preliminary feature via his time trial effort. Moving forward five spots in the 20-lap affair, Cory raced to a sixth-place finish.
In a field of 107 Late Models on Thursday as the World 100 weekend officially commenced with a pair of prelims, Cory edged his way into the show with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With $12,000 on the line, Hedgecock faded to finish 21st in the 25-lapper.
On Friday, Hedgecock’s sixth-place finish in his heat relegated him into the B-Main for another shot at the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Needing to place second or better, Cory missed a transfer spot by two cars with a fourth-place outing.
With preliminary points from Thursday and Friday positioning Cory on the fourth row for Saturday’s heat race, Hedgecock posted a seventh-place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Locking the top-four into the $55,000-to-win World 100, Cory’s night was over after pulling off on lap 15.
