Wenger visits Fairbury Speedway for Prairie Dirt Classic weekend

With the massive 81-car field split into two groups for time trials, Wenger laid down the fourth-fastest time in his group. Starting on the pole for his prelim, McKay missed a transfer spot into Saturday’s main event by one car with a fifth-place finish.

Holding off a charging Johnny Scott in his 10-lap consolation event on Saturday to pick up the win, McKay locked into the 18th-starting position for the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic. After running as high as 10th, Wenger pulled off early from the 100-lap affair on lap 66. He was credited with a 22nd-place outing.
