Battling for a $5,000 payday in the feature, both Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey scored a Top-10 finish in the 40-lapper. Joe crossed the line in ninth with Jeff trailing him in 10th.
On Friday evening at Tri-City Motor Speedway (Auburn, Mich.), Roth failed to qualify for the feature while Godsey had to use a provisional into the A-Main. Moving forward four spots, Joe logged an 18th-place outing.
For another $10,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday at Merritt Speedway (Merritt, Mich.), Joe followed up a heat race win with a fifth-place finish in the feature. He trailed Brandon Thirlby, Eric Spangler, Billy Moyer Jr., and Rusty Schlenk to the checkers. Jeff came in fourth in his heat before finishing 17th in the feature.
With Sunday’s rescheduled event at Thunderbird Raceway (Muskegon, Mich.) rained out, Joe finished third and Jeff finished eighth in the final DIRTcar Summer Nationals point standings.
