Starting the heat-shortened 30-lap feature in eighth via a third-place performance in his heat, Robinson dropped one spot to register a ninth-place finish.
On Friday afternoon at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.), Robinson followed up a sixth-place finish in his heat with a consolation victory from fourth-starting position. Passing four cars in the 50-lap feature, Ross crossed the line in 13th.
The following night at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the $15,000-to-win CMH Diamond Nationals, Ross was forced to take a provisional into the finale after missing a transfer spot by one car in his B-Main. Rolling off on the 12th row, Robinson gained five positions to place 18th.
