Johnny Mulligan Classic at Ponderosa Speedway Reset for July 15 Featuring Valvoline Iron-Man Late Models

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (July 10, 2022) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern and Southern Series will be in action at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Friday July 15 for the 2nd Annual Johnny Mulligan Classic paying $10,000 to win and $500 to start.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern and Southern Series will be at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday July 15 for the 2nd Annual Johnny Mulligan Classic and will be featured in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, Impact Race Gear B-Mains, and the 50-lap, $10,000 to win/$500 to start 2nd Annual Johnny Mulligan Classic. Other divisions in action at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday July 15 will be the track’s Open Wheel Modifieds ($1,200-to-win), Crate Late Models ($1,700-to-win), Super Stocks ($1,300-to-win), and Hobby Stocks ($500 to win) and Mustangs/FWD/RWD Mini Stocks ($500-to-win)

For the Super Late Model portion of the 2nd Annual Johnny Mulligan Classic, the Super Late Model top qualifier will receive $500 from Set-N-Stone and each Super Late Model heat race winner will receive $400. Other presenting sponsors of the event include Wildcat Moving, Bluegrass Radiator, Primal Divide, Heroes Outdoor Therapy, and Dial Painting.

Activities at Ponderosa Speedway for the 2nd Annual Johnny Mulligan Classic on Friday July 15 will see the pit area and general admission area open at 3:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps and time trials beginning at 7:20 p.m. Ticket prices at Ponderosa Speedway for the 2nd Annual Johnny Mulligan Classic on Friday July 15 in the general admission area will be $30 for adults, while a pit pass will be $45 for adults.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern and Southern Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350, 1600, LM40 (Crate 21 and 55 also are fine) or American Racer 48 and 56 (if the series needs to do a tire rule limiting the number of tires per night it will, but as of now the series will not be limiting the number of tires for either series; NO 29.0 size tires on the left rear; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the new standardized 2022 body rules). The entry fee will be $100 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field at each event will receive $75 tow money.
