In a stout field of 54 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Erb timed in second-fastest in his group before bagging a heat race win. Losing one spot in the 30-lap preliminary feature, Tyler posted a fifth-place finish, which came behind Mike Marlar, Brandon Overton, Earl Pearson Jr., and Brandon Sheppard.
For another $6,000-to-win prelim on Friday, Tyler edged his way into the 30-lapper with the third-and-final transfer spot. Starting in 13th, Erb dropped two spots to finish 15th.
Starting on the front row of his heat race on Saturday, Erb outran Mark Whitener in the eight-lapper to pick up the win. Earning the fourth-starting position for the $50,000-to-win Firecracker 100, Tyler fell back to a 15th-place outing after drawing a caution on lap 44.
Tyler remains in third in the LOLMDS point standings.
