In a field of 54 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Overton followed up the third-fastest time in his group with a heat race win. Improving three spots in the 30-lap feature, Brandon raced to a second-place finish, which came behind Mike Marlar.

For another $6,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, Brandon’s sixth-place finish in his heat relegated him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better, Overton came one spot short with a third-place outing.

Starting on the front row of his heat race on Saturday, Overton secured his spot into the $50,000-to-win Firecracker 100 with a heat win. Starting in fifth, Brandon made a late charge and made an attempt to pass the leader on the final circuit but fell short at the line, marking him second on the final rundown. He followed Tim McCreadie with Mike Marlar, Brandon Sheppard, and Earl Pearson Jr. rounding out the Top-5.
