Putnam Bags Pair of Top 5's in Clash at The Mag

Josh Putnam rolled into Johnny Stokes' Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss) over the weekend for the annual Clash at The Mag. The opening round of the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model weekend drew a field of 38 entries to the 3/8-mile oval on Friday night.

Josh qualified fourth fastest in his group before registering a third-place finish in hi heat race to lock into the 11th-starting spot for the 30-lap feature.

Josh mounted a great run in the feature to advance to a fourth-place finish behind Wil Herrington, Cade Dillard, and Joseph Joiner.

On Saturday night the winner's check increased to $12,000. Putnam began the night with fast time honors over the 35-car field, and then raced to a heat race win to lock into the pole position for the feature.

Track prep before the 50-lap feature resulted in the team's setup being a little off. Putnam still raced in the Top 5 throughout the feature before registering a fifth-place finish behind Wil Herrington, Jeremy Shaw, Kyle Beard, and Cade Dillard.
