DELANEY SCORES FIRST UMA SPORTSMAN WIN

Wisconsin Dells WI-Delaney scores the first UMA Sportsman win of 2023. Logan Delaney and Derrin Salo brought the beautiful 18 car field to the green for their 25 lap A-Main event on Performance Parts Supply night at DRP. Delaney would take the early advantage while the tandem of Dave Trute and Chris Weber would work through the stacked field of Sportsman. The battles were plentiful from the front to the back as pass after clean pass were made behind Delaney as he continued to pull away. With 10 laps to go the leader in the 8 would get snarled up with lapped traffic as the 07 of Dillon Sellner slowly crept in. With 2 to go Sellers found himself on the rear bumper of Delaney with a shot at the win. Delaney proved just too strong and smooth as he held off Sellers for the checkered flag. Dave Trute was third followed by Chris Weber and Andrew Borntreger. Trute was fastest of the 18 UMA Sportsman with a lap of 14.476. The preliminary races were cancelled due to the impending threat of rain. The UMA Sportsman will returned to the famed 1/3 mile oval on May 20th as part of R&R Doors night at the races.
