TM Fencing LLC Stock Car Extravaganza shines bright, plus a free Smoke Show!!

*The 81 speedway staff pulled out all of the stops for this one. Family fun night provided a band, bouncy houses, face painting, other games and family activities on the concourse for the next gen racers/fans. Thank you Lane family, Casey Jo and all the supporters of the kids club. I also want to thank Chris Kratzer for his unbelievable help and support on and around the track. Special Thanks also to The Big Infield announcer Josh Lanterman for filling in at the last minute.

*Let’s start off with the 20 strong Rage beef jerky mini-stocks. (Big T) Titus Bortzfield started 4th but moved to the front in just a few laps. He was challenged by Justin Esparza and “locally hated” himself Rustin Allen throughout the race. The racing was great front to back with a gaggle of cars vying for 4-9th places. At the end Titus took the W and left Justin Esparza for 2nd, Rustin Allen 3rd, Tyler Griffitts 4th and Joshua (tree) Caudell rounding out the top 5.

*The Super stock class sponsored by TM Fencing LLC seen the multi time winner Jerrod Reimer start tailback due to his car breaking in hot laps. It didn’t look to matter though because Kenny Sweet seemed to be in another gear gapping the field early in the show. Jason McGehee continued to battle and held down second place. Reimer did climb back on the podium finishing 3rd. Kenny looked like the Kenny of Old and always brings the fans to their feet! 4th to Chris Eveland, and 5th to JD Eveland.

*Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds headed out for the A-Feature just after the best crew in the state reworked the 3/8 mile oval giving these guys multiple lanes to race on. If I told you that KSR racing entry Dan Powers in his new B.O.M chassis lead green to checkers with no yellow in between you’d all probably think … Yawner, but that was far far from the case this last Saturday night! Yes from the jump Dan did jump out on the field leaving pole sitter Chris Kratzer running second battling off the always fast “PayDay” Paden Phillips for 14 laps straight. As the battles continued 2 and 3 wide thru the field , Dan stayed on the hammer at the top and had more than a couple of close calls as he navigated through lap traffic. Paden was keeping him in sight as Rocketman Kratzer succumbed to 3rd. With 5 laps remaining the smoke show began, the Danny Crane Engine Smoked like a train all the way around the track as Dan did all he could to hold on, I’m sure Paden was licking his chops thinking he would grab the top spot as soon as Dan pulled in or blew up. Miraculously even with the oil light bright as a lighthouse beacon for 2 laps, Dan Powers babied her home for another BIG win at the 81 Speedway. Paden Phillips 2nd, Chris Kratzer 3rd, Wyatt Gaggero 4th , and Tricky Ricky Bonham 5th. Thank you all for putting on a heck of a show. (Beers still on me IYKYK)

*The Allied Energy Stock cars checked in 31 cars to battle for $3000 presented by TM Fencing LLC. The 20 car A-Main was made up by running double heat races with an invert on single pill draw, passing points, and B-main qualifiers. The field was packed with some national known names, several of our regulars and other players that wanted to nab the cash. From the 4 wide start, Musco lighting light show, and fireworks to get the main event started this was more than a race, it was an event! Joey Richmond looked to be a man possessed from the start, he took off to an early lead and fought off challenges from Aaron Esparza, Kyler Kemp, Angel Munoz, and Clint Smith. With mechanical issues causing Esparza and Munoz to exit early, the race seen George Ramey, Kolby Stegman and “puppet master” Chris Purkey all in the top 5. Joey stayed committed to the top and the TDS suspension 12s of Clint Smith kept reeling him in from the bottom groove. Joey looked to bobble allowing Clint Smith to sneak by with only a lap or so to go! Your 2024 TM Fencing LLC Stock Car Extravaganza Champion is Clint Smith!!! Joey Richmond with an amazing 2nd place finish, Kyler Kemp 3rd, George Ramey 4th, and Kolby Stegman 5th.
*We look forward to growing this annually. Thank you Tane and the entire crew at TM Fencing LLC for making it all possible!!!
