12th-place finish in Pittsburgher 100 at PPMS

Ricky Thornton Jr. and the SSI Motorsports team picked back up with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday evening at Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio) for the Great Lakes 50. With a fourth-place finish in his heat placing him 10th on the starting grid for the opening night feature, Ricky dropped three spots in the 50-lap affair to finish 13th. (Heath Lawson photo)

On Saturday evening at Pittsburgh Pa. Motor Speedway (Imperial, Pa.) for the 32nd annual Pittsburgher 100, Thornton Jr. edged his way into the $20,000-to-win finale with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Rolling off 15th, Ricky clawed forward three spots in the 100-lap to cross the line in 12th.

Ricky is currently seventh in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
