McCowan Wins at Super Bee Speedway
Dillon McCowan made the trip south to Super Bee Speedway (Chatham, La.) over the weekend for the final weekend of the 2023 COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model campaign.
With 25 drivers entered into Friday's Spooky 50 weekend opener at the Louisiana oval, Dillon qualified sixth fastest in time trials before racing to a second-place finish in his heat race.
The 40-lap, $5,000-to-win feature found McCowan lined up sixth on the starting grid. As the feature went green he wasted little time working his way to the front of the pack. In fact he found his way to the lead by the 12th circuit, and once out front he cruised to his first win with the series by a comfortable 1.131-second margin.
Kyle Beard, Bubba Mullins, Tanner Kellick, and Brandon Ball completed the Top-5 finishers.
On Saturday Dillon enjoyed another great outing. He qualified fourth fastest before winning his heat race to lock into the pole position for the 50-lap feature. McCowan led the first lap of the $10,000-to-win finale before ultimately settling into a third-place finish behind Tyler Stevens and Kyle Beard.
