Podium finish for Jim Bernheisel at Lincoln Speedway
Friday night found Bryan Bernheisel in action at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) for the Turk Burket Tribute.
With 33 Late Models on the grounds for the event honoring a late racing legend in the area, Bryan topped his 17-car group in time trials with a blistering 19.269-second lap before placing first in his heat. Starting on the front row for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Bernheisel cut down a tire while running second that brought a disappointing end to his night.
On Saturday evening at Lincoln Speedway (Lincoln, Pa.) with Jim joining Bryan for the Super Late Model portion of the Bob Leiby Classic, Jim came in second in his heat while Bryan displayed an impressive charge in his heat with a ninth-to-fourth run. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, both drivers moved forward with Bryan gaining three spots to finish eighth and Jim passing five cars to place third. He chased Kyle Hardy and Gary Stuhler to the checkers with Jamie Lathroum and Dylan Yoder completing the top-five finishers.
