Volk Muscles His Way into Victory Lane
After a complete restart in the Jiffy Lube Multicare WISSOTA Street Stock feature, Allan Frederick led from the pole. Allan Frederick quickly felt pressure from behind has a strong Shawn Volk who looked low for the lead. They briefly raced side by side for the lead until Volk took the lead on lap four. Points leader, Zach Frederick started to reel in his father, Allan for second. A series of short cautions gave Zach Frederick the opportunity pass Allan Frederick for second and challenge Volk for the lead. Frederick using the high line around the track, passed Volk for the lead with nine to go. Volk held strong on the bottom. As the laps wound down, Volk was all over Zach Frederick’s rear bumper. With three laps to go, Zach Frederick and Volk made contact, pushing Frederick up the track. Volk pulled along side Frederick to narrowly grab the lead as the white flag waved. Frederick through his car in hard into the corners but as the checkered flag waved, Shawn Volk won by inches over Zach Frederick at the finish line. Geoff Hellman, who started 18th, finished third while John Feist held off Brad Kadrmas for fourth.
