LICHTFELD & ESWEIN SPLIT WALBECK CLASSIC TWINS
Wisconsin Dells WI 8/27/22-Mike Lichtfeld and Mark Eswein cashed in big with CWRA Walbeck Classic Feature wins on Fans Appreciation Night. Colin Tomlinson and Tyler Sauter brought am Awesome field of CWRA Super Late Models to the green for the first of two 30 lap Walbeck Classic 30 lap features. Tyler Sauter would jump out to the early lead as the field found the balance in their TowelCity recapped Hoosier Tires. Jesse Bernhagen and Mike Lichtfeld would quickly go to work moving forward to battle their way into the top 5 and into contention. They would work past Jeff Weinfurter and set their sights on the leader. Lichtfeld would be the first to the bumper of the 7 car. It would not take long for the 44 to gain the advantage and cruise to victory. He collected not only the trophy but a cool $1000 courtesy of Assembly Products. Paul Paine and Carter Christianson brought the field to the green for feature number two. Payne would take the early advantage with Mark Eswein following him closely. Eswein would take the battle to the leader early and often until eventually on lap 8 he would claim the lead. Payne would stay with him and continue to pressure right to the final flag as mike and Steve Lichtfeld would battle behind them the 44 would clear his sibling and try to catch the leaders but it was a two car race as Payne gave Eswein everything he could handle. It just wasn’t enough as Mark Eswein won part 2 of the Walbeck Classic presented by Assembly Products. Eswein and Payne were followed to the line by Mike Lichtfeld, Steve Lichtfeld and Mahlon Borntreger.
