Stevens Gets Upside Down at Old No. 1 Speedway
Tyler Stevens was eager to return to action with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models on Saturday night at Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Ark.).
Unfortunately, luck would not be on his side. After battling foam from the fuel cell in the fuel system all night, Tyler was confident he had the issue remedied for the feature. While that issue would subside, more bad luck awaited him in the $5,000-to-win finale.
He was collected in a massive melee on the sixth circuit, which resulted in him getting upside down. Thankfully he was uninjured, but the damage from the incident forced him to retire from the remainder of the feature.
He was credited with a 20th-place finish.
Despite the bad luck he continues to lead the Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year standings and is fifth in the overall series standings.
