Stevens Claims Pair of Top-5 Finishes in Louisiana State Championship
Tyler Stevens made another trip to Louisiana over the weekend, where he competed in the 48th Annual Louisiana Dirt Track State Championship. The opening night’s action was contested on Friday night with a $1,000 top prize on the line in the Frazier Accounting Crate Late Model division. With 33 entries on hand, Tyler advanced from the eighth starting spot in his heat race to finish second, which locked him into the fourth starting spot for the night’s main event.
In the 20-lap feature Tyler advanced to a runner-up finish behind Jamie Burford with Kevin Sitton, Jon Mitchell and Morgan Bagley rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
The second-and-final round of the event was held on Saturday as the winner’s check increased to $2,000. Via his performance on Friday night, Stevens started fourth in the feature. Unfortunately, track conditions weren’t conducive to passing, so Tyler had to settle for a fourth-place finish behind Morgan Bagley, Jon Mitchell, Rob Litton with Jamie Burford rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
