PAPKE HOLDS OFF WIEST AT THE LINE
In the INEX Legends feature, Nate Keena and Bryce Barnhardt battled hard for the lead early in the race. Keena got too high off corner two, allowing Drew Papke, Donavin Wiest and Austin Wiest to slip by. Drew Papke quickly reeled in Barnhardt but struggled to get around the leader. Using the low line around the track, Papke threw his car down low and grabbed the lead just before a caution regrouped the field with nine laps to go. Cautions plagued the race near the end but on the final restart with three laps to go, Donavin Wiest was all over Papke’s rear bumper. As they crossed the finish line, Drew Papke held on to win over Donavin Wiest. Bryce Barnhardt finished a career best of third place. Austin Weist finished fourth while Preston Martin rounded out the top five.
