Matt Cosner treks to Eldora Speedway for World 100 weekend
Making his first ever start at the famed half-mile oval, Matt Cosner unloaded his Global Truck Outfitters No. 66c Late Model at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday as a pair of prelims on Thursday and Friday kicked off the 53rd running of the World 100 weekend.
With over 100 cars on the grounds vying for Saturday’s top prize, Cosner followed up a seventh-place finish in his heat with a sixth-place outing in his B-Main, ending his night early.
For another round of preliminary features on Friday, Matt moved forward in both his heat and consolation race but failed to qualify for his $12,000-to-win prelim.
On Saturday, Cosner’s 10th-place result in his heat relegated him into a B-Main for one final shot at the $56,000-to-win World 100 finale. Buried deep in the field, Matt fell short of a transfer position but capped off the weekend with a solid 21st-to-14th charge in the 15-lap consolation race.
