Tony Jackson Jr. brings fast car to MLRA Battle at the Beach

Lebanon, Missouri’s Tony Jackson Jr. took part in the two-day Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) Battle at the Beach at Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Missouri) on Friday and Saturday, where the Willard Quarries No. 56JR Dirt Late Model was one of the strongest cars out of more than 30 on the property.

Jackson set the overall quick time on Friday and won his heat race from the pole position. He also started the $5,000-to-win, 30-lap A-Main from the pole and jumped out to an early lead on the 1/3-mile oval. Jackson ran the top line of the track throughout the race, but caught the wall on Lap 25, ending his night early. He finished in the 16th position after leading 18 laps.

On Saturday evening, Jackson was 12th in group qualifying and moved from sixth to fourth in his heat race to transfer into the night’s $7,000-to-win A-Main. He started in the 16th position in the 40-lap feature, but was unable to complete the event and came home 24th.
