Shredded tire halts Jackon's run at Springfield

Thursday night saw Tony Jackson Jr. return with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Mo.) piloting his Willard Quarries No. 56 Late Model. Drawing 30 cars, Tony timed in third fastest overall before streaking to heat race win. With the redraw placing him on the pole for the $5,000-to-win A-Main, Jackson Jr. led the first 13 circuits until a shredded left-rear tire on the 14th lap sent him pitside.
