Week 1 Race Weekend Recap - Memorial Weekend 2023

Friday night headed to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND. Got a late start to the track and arrived just in time to complete final car and equipment setup. Started 6th in the heat and finished 2nd. Feature line-up based on passing points which put me at 1st; however, invert draw shuffled me back to 4th. Ran a strong feature moving up as high as 2nd, but several end of race cautions caused the car (or the driver) to tighten up and ended the race in 4th position. Overall, a successful night of racing. Packed the car up for the night to travel to Devils Lake for a 2nd night of racing.

Saturday, worked on car setup and minor maintenance then headed up to Devils lake. Windy drive and evening at the track. Started 1st in the heat and finished 1st. Lined up 4th for the feature and had a slow start pushing me back as far as 6th. Ran a green-white-checkered race and worked my way back up to a 3rd place finish. Car packed back in the trailer in great condition.

Overall, a very successful race weekend! Special thanks to my pit crew - Hayden, Kelly and Jeanette. for getting the car in great running condition. Also, thanks to the Pederson family for providing a place to work on the car in preparation for Saturday's trek to Devil's Lake. Lastly, thanks to Magnum Contracting/Haugeberg Farms for providing us with transportation to get to and from the tracks!
