#100 Weekend Recap
This weekend started off in Grand Forks at the River Cities Speedway for the #100 team. Thanks to Marty, Kelly, Hayden & Sean for getting the car ready this week as i had other obligations. Sean was kind enough to tow the car for the weekend so the plan was to show up and race Friday, head back to Fargo that night to work at the race track Saturday morning before heading north to Greenbush to then turn around and head back home so we were able to be at the race track early Sunday morning to get ready for the day. We mother nature did not cooperate completely as it tried to rain out all three nights of racing but thankfully we got two out of three in!! River Cities was okay for me as i seem to not to expect anything in the way of results as i have never been very good there but i made the redraw in my heat and had a decent run that allowed us to put the car in the trailer and be ready for Saturday night. Saturday morning we were up early at the race track to get things done before heading to Greenbush but did not have to end up heading to our Minn-Kota opener as mother nature had other plans. Sunday Mother nature tried again with a quick shot of rain late in the day at the Buffalo River Speedway threatened to put an end to the activities but the track crew did an outstanding job and got the track and the pits ready to go. I started on the pole in the heat and was able to hold off Kelsi Pederson for the win in front of several friends and family members, which made the win even better! It's been a slow start for the #100 this year so a heat race win was a nice change! For the feature we again were lucky to draw the pole and lead the first few opening laps before getting passed by eventual feature winner Dexter Dvergsten before slowly falling back to 3-5th area for a good portion of the race. After a caution mid race the car did not seemed to just lose touch with the track and we started falling back a few more spots before finishing 8th place. It was great to see some of the battels in front of me as i saw Bryce Haugeberg really do a good job passing some cars in a lane i could not run along with rookie Weston Olson and Jake Haugeberg doing very well!! The young kids are going to be tough on this old guy!!! Honestly i wouldn't have been able to race this weekend, let alone this year if not for Kelly Koehmstedt, Hayden Koehmstedt, Marty Jorschumb & Sean Enright the #100 probably wouldn't even have hit the track yet this year!!! So a great big thank you for all you guys do to get it to the track and put up with everything i have going on this year. I would also want to thank all our sponsors of team #100!
