Weekend Recap
Friday night we made our 1st trip to River Cities Speedway for the year and started off with a horrible draw. Hot laps the car handled well i think we turned a 12.9 second lap during hot laps. A total of 19 Lightning Sprints were signed in for the night at River Cities Speedway. The heat was okay nothing special as it seemed i was trying to overdrive the car but we finished and got ready for the feature. The feature it seemed the changes that we made didn't really seem to make the car any better and we just kinda held our own is all. Saturday turned into a ton of miles for nothing kind of day!! I went to flag in Greenbush for the races Saturday night and Troy Burnside was set to drive the 100 machine in Grand Forks but mother nature didn't do either of us any good. I had just pulled into Greenbush when i got the text it was rained out, so i headed back to Grand Forks to watch Troy race and just as i pulled into River Cities Speedway it rained out as well. So Sunday the weather looked better and we headed off to BRRP to finish off the weekend and started off with a 4th place finish in the heat after starting on the pole. We made the transfer and started on the pole and ran a much better race as the Dakota Cat 100 machine led the first 9 laps of the race!! It was the best the car has handled and i thought i was making probably the smoothest laps i have all year. Unfortunately there was an incident drawing a yellow flag and as we lined back up to take the green the motor stumbled a few times and we dropped 6 spots before turn 2.....Hope fully it was a minor issue of the fuel loading up or a bad plug, but it seemed to take back off and we finished 7th and still had some very quick lap times. It's nice to see that the seat time and adjustments and hard work from everyone involved is starting to show.
Thanks to all my sponsors who help make this happen and those that help work on the car or take the time to come to the races and show their support!
I will not be racing this weekend due to flagging duties in Greenbush for a double header nut we might put someone in the car so stay tuned..
