Hellman Wins Thriller at the Line
Outside pole sitter, Hunter Domagala, grabbed the lead from pole sitter John Weber in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Weber raced side by side for second with points leader Zach Frederick before a series of early cautions regrouped the field. Restarts allowed Frederick to grab the lead from Domagala, bringing Shawn Volk and Geoff Hellman with him. On the final restart with 10 laps to go, Hellman passed Volk for second and held strong with Frederick. Hellman started to look to the outside of Frederick and Frederick sensing his presence, started to slide up the track to hold him off. Hellman pulled along side Frederick and they raced side by side for the win with two laps to go. With the momentum from the high line, Hellman had a narrow lead over Frederick as the white flag waved but Frederick held strong. Frederick threw his car hard into corners three and four and as they crossed the finish line, it was almost too close to car. Official declared Geoff Hellman the winner by .015 of a second over Zach Frederick. Shawn Volk finished third while Allan Frederick held off Matt Dosch for fourth.
