With 38 Late Models on the grounds, Winger got the ball rolling early as he topped his time trial group before placing first in his heat. Receiving the pole for the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature via the redraw, Winger dropped three spots in the 40-lapper to finish fourth. He followed Jason Feger, Bobby Pierce, and Tanner English across the line with Billy Moyer coming in fifth.
Following the second-fastest lap in his time trial group on Friday, Winger outran Max Blair in his heat race to pick up the win. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Ashton led the opening seven circuits but faded to fifth at the finish.
For Saturday’s finale, Ashton secured his spot into the $30,000-to-win Quad Cities 150 with a 12-lap heat race victory. Starting in second via the redraw, Winger took possession of the lead on the drop of the green flag and paced the field until lap 30 when Ryan Gustin stole the top spot. He rebounded to finish 15th in the 70-lap affair after slipping over the banking on a lap-60 restart while running in fourth.
